I’m FINALLY sitting down to start blogging all of the awesome families that I photographed this past Fall. With The Holidays and then moving to a new house, I feel like I can just now breathe! Little by little I will blog my favs from each session. To start, here is one of my favorite crews to photograph! Brooke and Foster are so sweet and fun! I’ve loved getting to photograph them each year and watch their sweet personalities develop (and their parents are great too 😉 ).

If you are up for a quick last minute mini session, let me know! I’m opening up this weekend….mornings only.
I have TWO spots left for mini sessions THIS Saturday morning! If there are more than two interested, I might open up Sunday morning too!
The Fordhams are of course, adorable as you can clearly see. Not only that but they carry such peace coupled with a sense of adventure. I’ve done many kid sessions and I’ve pretty much seen it all. Some are harder than others but I always walk away seeing it a little differently than the parents. I know what it’s like to be a parent and wanting your kids to cooperate for pictures (hence why I couldn’t even send out a Christmas card last year). The thing that the parents don’t usually see until the pictures come back is that even when the conditions seem tough, there is almost always a smile or a smirk that is in there that can be captured. Sometimes it’s stepping back and allowing them to just be who they are. It creates an environment that is safe and authentic for them. I know I’m going off a little here but I really see these sessions a little differently now. I think it’s so important to capture who the kids (families, individuals) TRULY are. The pictures end up being ones that you will look back on years later and smile, remembering how they were and the authentic smile that they had at that age. The Fordham kids are such sweet kids. The boys wanted to help their little sister, who wanted NOTHING to do with me or especially my camera. Whitney (their mom) and I finally stepped back and just let them be and play and through that, were able to catch some sweet photos that show their true selves.
Eli is fun and adventurous. He will have a very positive influence on the world….
Cooper has such a sweet, gentle spirit and extremely kind. He will be a safe place for people….
Avery is powerful and full of grace…
Big brothers helping to distract and entertain their little sister….
Avery was a little stuck on the word “no” throughout most of the shoot (see first pic below) so Whitney pulled out all the stops, gave her a phone, and let her be. We ended up getting some great smiles out of her (see below)….
…and like every good event with boys, it ends in a tackle 😉
Cooper, Avery and Eli….
It’s time to start thinking about Fall sessions! I have set my mini session schedule and have already started booking people (early). If you want a spot, grab it now. I have several options but it’s first come, first serve. The locations are different each day so make sure to ask before picking the day, if that matters to you. For info on dates and pricing, email me: email@example.com or you can text/call me: (830) 998-5802.
In honor of Mother’s Day coming up, I’m doing mini sessions for JUST moms and their kids! Moms, how many times do you look through your pictures and see your kids, your husband with the kids and grandparents with your kids? I bet there are very few of YOU with your kids. At least this is how it is in my family. I have big canvases on my walls filled with pictures of my kids and my husband with our kids. I literally have so few pictures that I am actually in. I told Shane that all I want for Mother’s Day is for him to take my camera and shoot some pics of me with the kids. I mean, seriously. Moms need to be in pictures with their kids. They need documented PROOF that they were there with them in the little years! So book your spot in these mini sessions. They will be fun and interactive!
Get ready for some CUTE kids! Paige’s kiddos have been the subjects of many of my photo shoots in the past. Now that Cates has a baby, I get to photograph him as well :). Here are some of my favs…..
Now that Fiesta is over, it’s back to work. I have to say, it was nice taking a week off for fun Fiesta events and parades, but I am TIRED. So, recover one week from all the fun and then NEXT WEEK (May 7-13) get some Spring pictures taken! I promise to make it as quick and stress-free as possible. There are a few spots left so let me know if you want to grab one.
Fiesta! The ten-day festival held in San Antonio every Spring, begins! This is definitely a favorite time of year for San Antonio residents (or those visiting). With a multitude of parades, Mexican food, margaritas, pinatas, parties and more; you really can find something to do every minute of the week. To top it off, you get to dress in the most fun, colorful attire all week (if you choose 😉 ).
My parents love to send out a Christmas card of their grandkids every year, but the newest baby wasn’t born in time for that. This year my mom decided to do something completely different; a Fiesta card. I recently took some pictures of all the grands (with much help from my sister, mom and sister-in-law) for said card. Let’s just say, it was a process.
Many times people only see the FINAL product of a picture. This is after ALL the weeding out and editing happens. The final picture that was actually sent out by my mom looked very “put-together.” Well let me just tell you, it didn’t start off that way. It appeared (on the card) that we have the most well-behaved, photogenic little angels. Ha! In fact, the outtakes WAY out-number the chosen pics. Here is a glimpse into what REALLY happens during a shoot…..
We stop for kisses…
We try to control, I mean “help” the little ones…
We pester each other…
Then we get a “pep talk” (in this case, MANY pep talks)….
Sometimes we pick our noses….
and get very annoyed…
Or forget about personal space…
and definitely get very tired and delirious…
The final product!……with a lot of extra work; let’s be serious.
